Want to know who we really are? We are very lucky people getting to see the world! We can’t always afford to go but, then we are afraid someday we won’t be physically able to travel so, we are doing it now!
For many years I had saved travel magazines, salivated over some very beautiful places in the world that I just wished we could visit.
I had lived in Hawaii for several years, learned to surf, loved the water, and the beautiful beaches! Although fantastic surroundings I was much more adventurous than 37 miles an island had to offer. Every place I lived; California, Arkansas, Texas, Colorado had different scenery and offered unique things to see. I, we set our minds to seeing all that we could and share the world with our children; at least the United States, Canada and Mexico.
We actually began our family travel by camping, but we set a goal that each vacation we must visit 2-3 US Capitals. Our kids stood in two different states and shook hands, crawled through caves, and even sifted sand for Diamonds. These experiences have made some great memories.
These memories lead me to Travel Schools - learning all I could about the business, and worked with several travel agencies, where I obtaining more, and more experience. George, my husband, became more interested in the business too. He would help escort groups and visited many Caribbean islands. When he retired he started taking classes and with me, attends seminars and conferences. Like any business; changes are taking place all the time, new cruises, new resorts, and even newer destinations; something we must keep up to date with.
A lot of my business was evenings and week-ends when people were off work and had time to plan their trips. It’s still surprising with the internet how many people do their research then finalize their trips with an agency. They trust a Travel Advisor to handle their money rather than an online agency over the internet. I apologize I got off track. The hours lead to us having a home based agency; we can work hours when a Brick and Mortar Travel Office is closed. By a set appointment either in person or over the phone we can assist in planning your vacations during your available hours.
